Why BlackBerry Limited Stock Popped 20.6% in September

Security software and services specialist BlackBerry (NASDAQ: BBRY) saw its stock climb 20.6% in September, according to data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence. The rise is likely almost entirely due to the company's better-than-expected results for its fiscal 2018 second quarter.

On Sept. 28, the company reported a surprising adjusted profit of $0.05 on total revenue of $249 million. But the bigger news was the company's record software and services revenue.
