As investors ready to ring in the new year, they have to be thrilled with Wall Street's performance in 2023. The iconic Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES: ^DJI) recently climbed to a record high, with the benchmark S 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) and innovation-driven Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) gaining 25% and 44%, year to date, through the closing bell on Dec. 28.
