The holiday spirit continued on Wall Street on Wednesday, with major market benchmarks continuing to gain ground. The Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) rose almost 1%, and while gains for the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) and Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES: ^DJI) were more measured, there was still palpable optimism among investors going into the Thanksgiving break.
