As investors, we often associate dividend stocks with financials, utilities, telecom and energy stocks. But the technology sector can also be a great place to look for dividend stocks, and given the sector's struggles this year, some of these stocks have higher yields than investors are used to seeing.

I also like the idea of investing in dividend-paying tech stocks because it combines the defensiveness of dividend stocks and the recurring passive income of dividend investing with the upside and innovation of the technology sector.
