Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: FB) stock went up over 17% on Thursday, then Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) stock was down over 12% in after-hours trading. When such large companies make mega moves to the upside and downside, it can be a sign that the market is volatile. And given the Nasdaq Composite has plunged into a bear market in a matter of months, it is clear that the 2022 stock market is looking much different than the rip-roaring year we had in 2021.
