Apple Ditching Intel With Its New Macs Could Be the Start of Something Big

Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) announced new Mac hardware on Tuesday, and the devices aren't powered by central processing units (CPUs) from Intel (NASDAQ: INTC). The new MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and Mac Mini are now available for pre-order, and all are powered by Apple's internally designed M1 CPU.
