If a stock is down more than 90% during the past year, you know there's something seriously wrong with the underlying business. Things have gotten so bad for biotech company Ginkgo Bioworks Holdings (NYSE: DNA) that it recently had to do a 1-for-40 reverse stock split to keep its share price up and stay listed on the New York stock Exchange. It has been in the midst of a stunning free fall as investors appear to have lost patience with the business.
