February Job Growth of 183,000 Comes in Above Estimates

Human resources and payroll giant ADP (NASDAQ: ADP) says the U.S. non-farm private sector added 183,000 jobs in February. The data, from the company's National Employment Report, which it compiles from payroll data and other analysis and releases monthly, came in above estimates. Economists expected between 150,00 and 160,000 new jobs in the month.

Of the 183,000 added jobs, the majority were from companies with 500 or more employees. Large employers added 133,000 jobs in February versus 24,000 from companies with less than 50 employees, and 26,000 from companies with between 50 and 499 employees.
