Invest in Bitcoin? The IRS May Be Coming After You

Quick: Name the fastest growing investment on the planet right now! Did you say virtual reality or legal marijuana? While both are growing at an exceptionally quick rate, they're not keeping pace with cryptocurrencies like bitcoin and ethereum, which have left traditional stock-based investments in the dust in 2017.

Since the beginning of the year, and through July 9, bitcoin has risen by 178% and ethereum was up by more than 2,300%. By comparison, the broad-based S&P 500 was up just 8.3% year to date.
