Starting the year at $0.35 per token, the international payment system's operating coin rose as high as $0.82 before dropping back down to $0.62. These sharp trend changes made the S 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) and Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) indices look sleepy by comparison, even though the market trackers delivered gains of historic scale last year:
