Roku's New Partner Could Fuel Its Expansion

Roku (NASDAQ: ROKU) is, at its core, a digital advertising business. It's bringing the benefits of TV advertising and digital advertising together as a top destination for connected-TV marketers.

But so far, connected-TV ad inventory has mostly served the same national brand advertisers as traditional TV. Roku's looking to change that with a new partnership with Shopify (NYSE: SHOP), a self-serve online storefront favored by small- and medium-sized online retailers.
