Shares of Coeur Mining Drop on Earnings Loss

Shares of precious-metals miner Coeur Mining (NYSE: CDE) were down as much as 11% in early morning trading and are down 7.6% as of this writing after the company posted disappointing third-quarter earnings.

The company announced today that it had produced a net loss of $0.09 per share on $176 million in revenue for the quarter. Wall Street was expecting a $0.01 per-share profit for the quarter, and that pretty much explains the stock price drop.
