The New Console Cycle Is Here! 3 Video Game Stocks to Watch for 2021

A year of heavy consumer spending on video games is coming to an epic conclusion with the release of new consoles like Sony's (NYSE: SNE) PlayStation 5 (PS5). Other notable new releases just in time for the end of 2020 include Facebook's (NASDAQ: FB) Oculus Quest 2 for virtual reality and new graphics processing units (GPUs) from NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) for high-end PC and laptop gaming. Suffice it to say the future for the video game industry looks promising, even after the COVID-19 pandemic comes to a close.

Three video game stocks worth watching in 2021 are Corsair Gaming (NASDAQ: CRSR), Nintendo (OTC: NTDOY), and Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT). We asked these three Motley Fool contributors to comment on these stocks:

Nicholas Rossolillo (Corsair Gaming): Most in-the-know gaming enthusiasts will know this company as a hardware accessory and peripherals maker -- everything from PC components to headsets to lighting. The company completed its IPO in September 2020 and is up nearly 150% since its public debut. It's gotten a boost this year as social distancing and remote work have created some extra time at home for gamers, and a new upgrade cycle hastened by new NVIDIA graphics cards and consoles could keep Corsair flying high in 2021.
