Twitter Takes Another Shot at Curbing Hate

While Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) has become an important part of the national conversation thanks to its extensive use by President Donald Trump, the platform has struggled to police its audience.

On the positive side, the social-media site gives every user a way to communicate freely. On the negative side, that allows virtually unchecked hate speech, cyber-bullying, and other forms of inappropriate interaction.

Twitter has struggled with how to police its audience, and has acknowledged its struggles. In fact, the company's @TwitterSafety account even admitted, in a recent blog post, that Twitter has not been able to deliver on promises to become a safer place for its audience. "Far too often in the past, we've said we'd do better and promised transparency but have fallen short in our efforts," it wrote.
