Stocks made a comeback on Tuesday, advancing broadly throughout the day. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES: ^DJI) and the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) both gained just under a percentage point.

Biotech and retail stocks were particularly strong today. The iShares NASDAQ Biotechnology ETF (NASDAQ: IBB) gained 1.9% and the SPDR S&P Retail ETF (NYSEMKT: XRT) added 1.5%.
