Why AeroVironment Stock Lost Altitude on Thursday

Shares of AeroVironment (NASDAQ: AVAV) were trading sharply lower on Thursday morning. The drone maker had a rough landing, falling as much as 13% in early trading. As of 2:35 p.m. EDT, the stock was still down 12.3% compared to Wednesday's closing price.

AeroVironment reported the results of its fiscal 2022 first quarter (ended Jul. 31, 2021), and while revenue was better than expected, profits were nowhere to be seen.
