Why Cruise Line Stocks Jumped on Wednesday

Shares of cruise line stocks had another strong start to the day Wednesday after one cruise line returned to open water and another found ways to sell high-value cruise tickets.

Shares of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NYSE: NCLH) rose as much as 7.7% in early trading and were still up 3.3% at 3 p.m. EDT today. Shares of Carnival (NYSE: CCL) were up 5.3% early and 1.8% higher at 3 p.m. And Royal Caribbean (NYSE: RCL) was up 6.2%, and 2.1% later in the day. Shares have given back some early gains but are still outpacing the market, which is flat today.
