Why Shopify Stock Is Up 7% Today

Shopify (NYSE: SHOP) shareholders trounced the market on Thursday as their stock gained over 7% by 3 p.m ET, compared to a 2.8% increase in the S&P 500.

The spike only erased a small portion of recent losses for owners of the e-commerce platform, which remains lower by nearly 70% so far in 2022. But the rally reflected growing optimism around its 2022 growth and profit opportunities.
