Why Weibo, Netease, and Sohu Stocks All Popped 10% Today

Happy New Year, China investors!

2020 started off with a bang on the first trading day of the year, as shares of Chinese tech giants Weibo (NASDAQ: WB), Netease (NASDAQ: NTES), and Sohu.com (NASDAQ: SOHU) shot up like fireworks. After topping 10% in early trading, as of 1:20 p.m. EST, Weibo stock remained up a healthy 9.6% and Netease 9.4%, and Sohu was still sitting atop a 10% gain.
