TRANSFER OF DEJAN LOVREN

Lyon, 17 June 2013

Olympique Lyonnais has transferred Croatian international Dejan Lovren to English club Southampton for €10 million, including incentives of up to €2 million, thereby realising a significant capital gain in the second half of 2012/13.

Dejan Lovren came to OL in January 2010 from Dinamo Zagreb. He won the 2012 Coupe de France with OL and played for the team a total of 102 times.

Lovren is the second player to leave the Olympique Lyonnais professional squad in the current end-of-season transfer window, after Anthony Réveillère, whose contract had expired.

Over the past few months, Olympique Lyonnais has extended the contracts of Steed Malbranque (until 2014), Anthony Lopes (2016) and Yassine Benzia (2016). The club has also signed six young players from the OL Academy to their first professional contracts for a period of three seasons: Fares Bahlouli, Nabil Fekir, Zakarie Labidi, Anthony Martial, Clinton N'Jie and Naby Sarr.

These changes are in line with the policy the club has followed for the past two years, which focuses on the OL Academy and on developing the potential of new talented players who adopt the club's values.
