Owning property can be a wonderful investment, especially as a source of recurring income. But for a variety of reasons, financial and otherwise, buying and managing a property isn't a viable investment option for most people. But that doesn't mean investing in property or real estate is off the table. There are a class of stocks called REITs, or real estate investment trusts, which specialize in owning and managing real estate assets.
