Investors are having a tough time getting a handle on economic and political happenings, and the net result has been weakness in key stock market benchmarks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES: ^DJI) lost more than 1% on Tuesday, and more modest losses for the S 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) and Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) showed that there weren't many good hiding places from negative sentiment on Wall Street.
