In the 15 years since Google went public, the company changed its name to Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL) (NASDAQ: GOOG) and became one of the world's most influential businesses, racking up revenue of more than $136 billion in 2018. It's also picked up a lot of much smaller companies along the way -- more than 200 as of this year -- with the most recent being the analytics start-up Looker in June.
