AMC Entertainment Has More than a COVID-19 Problem
AMC Entertainment Holdings (NYSE: AMC) boasts about being the world's largest movie theater company. It had about 1,000 theaters across the globe at the end of 2019, with approximately 64% located in the United States. The remaining ones are primarily in Europe, with the United Kingdom the largest international representative.
While international diversification is good, the coronavirus pandemic has shut down movie theaters across the United States and Europe.
If this was the only issue AMC was confronting, that would be one thing. Unfortunately, AMC's troubles won't end once restrictions are lifted and people are free to go to the movies.
