Better Buy: Alphabet vs. Microsoft
Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL) (NASDAQ: GOOG) and Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) took different paths to attain market caps topping $1 trillion. Alphabet built its brand on internet search and advertising through its largest revenue driver, Google. Conversely, Microsoft established itself by developing the operating systems and productivity software that once ran the tech world.
However, both companies have emerged as competitors in recent years, most notably in the cloud. Both have challenged the dominance of Amazon's Amazon Web Services (AWS), which remains the largest cloud infrastructure company.
