ENCAVIS sells Austrian wind farm portfolio in total to WIEN ENERGIE

Hamburg/Vienna, December 27, 2021 - SDAX-listed wind and solar park operator Encavis AG (ISIN: DE0006095003, Prime Standard, ticker symbol: ECV), sells ist majority stake of 51 percent of its wind farm portfolio in Austria in total to the largest regional Austrian utility, Wien Energie GmbH. The three wind farms "Pongratzer Kogel" and "Herrenstein" in Styria and "Zagersdorf" in Burgenland represent a generation capacity of 36.2 megawatts (MW) in total and were already owned to 49% by Wien Energy.

"The very first time we exceptionally sell a wind farm portfolio in total due to its minor size and comparably limited growth perspectives in this energy market. Once again we provide evidence of the value of our existing portfolio. The technical and commercial optimisation of our parks create significant value - as this example repeatedly demonstrates. This proof of value, which is already included in our forecast key figures for this year, confirms the achievement of our Guidance 2021," Dr Christoph Husmann, CFO of Encavis AG, emphasised the positive financial effects of this hitherto unique sale of a wind farm in total.

With this wind farm acquisition, Wien Energie once again confirms its regional focus and strengthens its portfolio of renewable energy generation, which, in addition to the main focus on photovoltaic parks, also includes wind and hydropower plants.

"We acquired already nearly half of these regional wind farms last year and we are very happy to integrate the extremely well developed parks with their 13 wind power plants into our portfolio completely. With this acquisition we extend our wind power generation capacity up to 190 megawatts (MW) in total and could serve corresponding more than 200,000 households CO2-free with electricity", DI Mag. Michael Streibl, Chairman of the Management Board of Wien Energie GmbH, underlined the investment in renewable energy generation for the security of supply and climate protection of the country.
