Changes in Board of Management at Hornbach Baumarkt AG



Bornheim bei Landau/Pfalz, December 17, 2019.
Wolfger Ketzler, a member of the Board of Management at Hornbach Baumarkt AG, will stand down from his position at the end of the 2019/20 financial year as of February 29, 2019 on the basis of amicable agreement and with the approval of the Supervisory Board. Appointed to the Board of Management in 2012, the 62 year-old attorney was most recently responsible for real estate, construction, technical procurement, internal audit, legal affairs, and compliance. Before that, he was from 2008 to 2011 a member of the Supervisory Board of Hornbach Holding AG and of Hornbach Baumarkt AG (Audit Committee Chairman). In the period from 1999 through to joining the Board of Management of Hornbach Baumarkt AG, Wolfger Ketzler was a partner and managing director at the international commercial law firm Beiten Burkhardt Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH (Frankfurt). In this capacity, he provided legal advice to the Hornbach family and the Hornbach Group.


The Supervisory Board thanked Wolfger Ketzler for his longstanding association with the company. During his period of activity on the Board of Management, the qualified attorney and tax advisor promoted the expansion of the Hornbach Baumarkt AG Group both in Germany and abroad, and that in a challenging competitive climate. Furthermore, his legal expertise enabled important structures to be put in place in the internal audit, legal, and compliance departments, thus creating a basis for sustainable corporate governance at the Hornbach Group.

The Board of Management of Hornbach Baumarkt AG, which to date has comprised seven members, will be reduced to six members from the 2020/21 financial year (March 1, 2020 to February 28, 2021). The future allocation of business within the Board of Management will be determined by the end of the 2019/20 financial year.
