Energy Stocks Lift Stock Markets Toward New Highs
The stock market made an assertive statement of extreme confidence on Friday, responding favorably to news that the U.S. employment picture has begun to recover. The recovery from March's lows has already been extremely impressive, but the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES: ^DJI), S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC), and Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQINDEX: ^IXIC) were all up roughly 2% to 3% on the day.
