General Electric Signs a Deal to Recycle Wind Turbine Blades

General Electric (NYSE: GE) has announced a multiyear agreement with Veolia Environnement to recycle GE's onshore wind turbine blades based in the U.S. The deal involves Veolia processing blades that have been removed for upgrade purposes for use in cement production.

According to the press release, "nearly 90% of the blade material, by weight, will be reused as a repurposed engineered material for cement production." As such, GE hopes to recycle the majority of blades replaced during the upgrade process.
