COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) and Moderna (NASDAQ: MRNA) are being distributed across the U.S. (and across the world, for that matter). But these vaccines received Emergency Use Authorization before the emergence of new coronavirus variants. One of those variants, first identified in South Africa, could especially present problems.
