What Does SoFi Actually Do? And Is It a Good Buy?


Back in 2012, SoFi Technologies (NASDAQ: SOFI) was started with a focus on student-loan refinancing. Fast-forward nearly a decade and it has become so much more. After getting taken public via a special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC) by Chamath Palihapitiya's Social Capital Hedosophia, it is now available for the public to own.

But is it a good investment? Some Motley Fool investors are very excited about it. Others are more cautious.
