Brookfield Infrastructure Partners (NYSE: BIP) has been having an outstanding year. The infrastructure company has been sizzling, generating a total return of more than 50%, which has blown past the red-hot S&P 500's nearly 25% total return. Powering the company's big gains has been the impact of several recently completed acquisitions.
Those deals should have fueled continued growth during the third quarter, which is one of a few things investors should keep an eye on when the company reports those results later this week.
