Why Apple Will Be the Undisputed King of 5G Smartphones in 2021
Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) delivered blowout results for the first quarter of fiscal 2021, which ended on Dec. 26, 2020, thanks to the massive success of its 5G-enabled iPhone 12 lineup.
The smartphone giant recorded its first-ever quarter with more than $100 billion in revenue as its top line increased 21% over the prior-year period to $111 billion. Apple's iPhone revenue jumped 17% over the prior-year period to almost $66 billion.
The success of the iPhone 12 isn't surprising. Apple's attractive pricing gave its huge installed user base a solid reason to upgrade. More importantly, the company can sustain its terrific iPhone growth momentum, and it looks set to dominate the fast-growing 5G smartphone market.
