Why HubSpot, Okta, and Appian Stocks All Slumped on Tuesday


Shares of a large number of high-growth stocks tumbled on Tuesday, as the market focused on a wide range of economic issues that caused mixed results from the major U.S. stock indexes.

HubSpot (NYSE: HUBS) stock was down as much as 6.1% on Monday, Okta (NASDAQ: OKTA) was off by as much as 5.2%, and Appian (NASDAQ: APPN) was also down as much as 6.1%. The trio ended the session down 3.8%, 4.7%, and 1.7%, respectively. It's worth noting that the broader market indexes were mixed, with the S&P 500 gaining 0.17% on the day, while the Nasdaq Composite declined 0.5%.

There didn't appear to be any company-specific news contributing to the sell-off, but rather a variety of macroeconomic factors that may have had a hand in driving these stocks lower.
