Why US Foods Stock Popped 12% Today
Shares of food distributor US Foods Holding (NYSE: USFD) are bouncing back strongly today, up 11.6% as of 2:30 p.m. EDT, after suffering a 4.5% sell-off Thursday.
On Tuesday evening, the Pentagon announced it is awarding US Foods a $478 million contract to perform "full-line food distribution" for the Defense Logistics Agency, servicing the Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and federal civilian agencies.
