Latécoère selected by Embraer for the development and the production of all EJet E2 doors

Embraer has selected Latécoère group for development and production of the doors of the new EJet E2 aircraft. This set of doors consists of passengers and services doors, the freighter doors for E175-E2, E190-E2 and E195-E2 versions as well as over wing emergency exit doors for E190-E2 and E195-E2 versions. It is therefore from six to ten doors according to versions which will be delivered to São José Dos Campos to be installed on the assembly lines of Embraer. The contract which also concerns support in service to the operators is valued at about 1 billion dollars on the length of the program.

The E-Jets E2 is the second generation of its E-Jets family of commercial aircraft. The application of advanced technologies for engines, wings, and avionics distinguishes the E-Jets E2 by providing airlines with maximum efficiency gains and no compromises, while maintaining commonality with current E-Jets. New aerodynamically advanced, high-aspect ratio, distinctively shaped wings, improved systems and avionics, including 4th generation full fly-by-wire flight controls, and new generation engines that will result in double-digit reductions in fuel consumption, emissions, noise and maintenance costs, and increased aircraft availability. The entry into service of the E-Jets E2 is planned for 2018.

Bertrand Parmentier, CEO and Eric Gillard, COO of the Latécoère group said: "We are very pleased with this choice which restates the confidence of Embraer in our Group and reinforces the position of the Latécoère group as one of the main companies able to develop new-generation aircraft doors. The current EJet program is a real success and we are very confident that the E2 version will experience the same success".
