Der chinesische Betreiber von Online-Spielen Shanda Games hatte Anfang Dezember in den USA nachbörslich seine Quartalszahlen vorgelegt. Gegenüber dem Vorjahr ist der Umsatz um satte 53% auf 172,9 Millionen US Dollar gestiegen. Der Nettogewinn stieg um 39% auf 24 Cents je Aktie. Analysten hatten zuvor 21 Cents Gewinn je Aktie erwartet. Allerdings ist der Umsatz leicht unter den durchschnittlichen Analystenschätzungen ausgefallen.
Shanda Games profitiert von der starken Nachfrage chinesischer Online-Spieler. Rund 2/3 aller chinesischen Internetuser haben Online-Game-Portale besucht. China ist mit rund 335 Millionen Internetnutzern zum weltweit größten Internetmarkt gewachsen.
