Der Chemie- und Pharmakonzern Bayer will sein Forschungs- und Entwicklungsbudget im kommenden Jahr nicht kürzen. Die Ausgaben für Forschung und Entwicklung (F+E) sollten 2012 in ähnlicher Höhe liegen wie im laufenden Jahr, berichtet die "Financial Times Deutschland" unter Berufung auf eine Betriebsvereinbarung. Für 2011 hat Bayer F+E-Mittel im Volumen von rund drei Milliarden Euro eingeplant. Bayer hatte im vergangenen November einen umfangreichen Stellenabbau angekündigt. Bis 2013 will Bayer ein jährliches Einsparvolumen von 800 Millionen Euro erreichen. Davon soll rund die Hälfte in Wachstumsbereiche (Forschung, Entwicklung und Vermarktung neuer Produkte sowie Ausbau der Aktivitäten in den Schwellenländern) reinvestiert werden. Bis Ende 2012 sind Einmalkosten in der Größenordnung von einer Milliarde Euro für den Umbau geplant. Bis Ende 2012 sollen per saldo rund 2.000 der weltweit 108.700 Arbeitsplätze entfallen. Einem Abbau in einer Größenordnung von 4.500 Stellen - davon rund 1.700 in Deutschland - steht im selben Zeitraum ein Aufbau von rund 2.500 Arbeitsplätzen - vor allem in den Schwellenländern - gegenüber. Beim Arbeitsplatzabbau in Deutschland will Bayer auf betriebsbedingte Kündigungen verzichten.
