Das Geschäftsmodell von Ocean Yield ist das Kaufen von Schiffen und weiterverchartern an Reedereien. Die Firma trägt das Investitionsrisiko und profitiert von meist langlaufenden Charterverträgen. Die Flotte umfasst dabei Stückgutfrachter, Tanker, Containerschiffe und einige Spezialschiffe.
Aktuell nimmt das Frachtaufkommen, speziell bei Containern massiv zu. Die Preise und damit die Margen steigen für die Schifffahrt wieder.
